Dale M. Burr Artist of the Tetons & Yellowstone

Today is Old Epriam Day my old friend the Giant Grizzly Bear of the  Idaho and Utah mountains..
This painting was created in l979, after discovering the the true story of the largest grizzlies in the Cache National Forest, the painting depicts Frank Clark the sheepherder and Jenny the sheep dog and  Old Ephriam that was caught in a trap but, as you can see he tore the chain loose from the log and got away, All three of our characters in this play are in a very action packed scene,
The true store and all the facts come with the print, and is a very popular piece of art.order it now for a great conversation piece for and area in your home, office,or place of business. I can print it in any size.
This painting has been the most popular piece that I have created, and still remains so today.

Dale M. Burr Yellowstone artist

My long time love affair with Yellowstone National Park is mostly centered around the Old Faithful Geyser area. Since childhood my parents and I used to take weekly rides into the park. living in the town of West Yellowstone on weekends dad would say "how about a ride to the park?"Oh boy! can we?
Mom would fix up a lunch and away we would go, as dad would drive along he would start a song and they both sang as I hummed with them. as we traveled along through the thick forests my face pressed against the window hollering oh look at  that! or mom would say look how beautiful the water is on the river or the geese  swimming on the lakes or ponds, and on we would travel.

We would stop for lunch by a stream or a out of the way geyser and I would explore the mystic surroundings.
Then we  would finally end up at Old Faithful..standing there listening for the rumbling sounds beneath the earth,my heart pounding faster and faster, then everyone would shout as the crystal white sparkling water came exploding from way down in the heart of the earth. Mom would say "Oh Look isn't it  beautiful" squeezing my hand. as the mineral water would gush upward to the blue sky, Memories of that time will be forever warm in my heart.

Being close to my studio in Teton Valley I try and go their as many times as possible..as an old artist and still excited I feel like the old geyser is an gentle friend of mine and watches over the whole park, it feels like home when I visit, I love it and always will.

Now as old artist I still feel the excitement  of the sights and sounds as I try to paint the beauty and grandeur of this beautiful place.
The brush fails and words are no use in trying to explain it, but I keep painting just one more canvas hoping to create some of the beauty that has made my heart sing over the years. " maybe someone will like this one" I tell by self maybe they will feel the same love as I have for this great ol park  and want to take it home to enjoy.
Yes maybe someone will get a glimps of some of the beauty I have seen.
